Is an online degree as good as a campus degree?

Online degrees from recognised universities cost far less and can be done from anywhere. Yet many employers and parents still see them as second best.

The case for

• They cost less and reach students in small towns and villages.

• Working people and caregivers can study without giving up their income.

The case against

• Labs, mentors, classmates and campus life are a big part of what a degree gives you.

• Some subjects simply cannot be learned on a screen.
