About Pakshya
Last updated September 9, 2026
Pakshya (पक्ष, "a side" or "a viewpoint") is a debate and opinion portal built around a simple idea: disagreement gets more useful, not less, when it's grounded in facts, logic, patience and respect.
What Pakshya is
Most feeds reward whoever reacts first and loudest. Pakshya is built the opposite way. Every debate has two sides, for and against, and the goal isn't to "win" the thread but to see the strongest version of the other side's argument before you form your own opinion.
How it works
- Start a debate — pick a title, a category, and state your position.
- Others weigh in for or against, backing their view with reasoning rather than just a reaction.
- Readers vote and comment, and can filter discussion by for, against, or their own contributions.
- Debates are organized by category and searchable, so you can find topics you actually care about.
Our principles
- Facts over feelings — claims should be checkable, not just felt.
- Logic over rhetoric — a good argument should survive being restated by someone who disagrees with it.
- Patience over reaction — take the time to understand a position before responding to it.
- Respect over ridicule — attack the argument, never the person making it.
Where we are today
Pakshya is early and actively evolving — expect new features, rough edges, and frequent changes as we build it out. If something feels off or you have ideas, we want to hear them.
